That's the limit of my gun experience unless you count shooting tin pie pans with a BB gun in my PawPaw's backyard.

As for Cheney, well first he flips the bird, then he shoots the "bird" or so he thinks supposedly and now we got a human being laying in a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds!
Normal occurrence? Only in the world of these gouls!

I'll bet deep down that he felt a thrill from the experience. I've heard that Cheney is a gun nut who goes to military shooting ranges and fires off all manner of machine guns and RPGs.

I'm sure you could pull up examples of crimes comitted by "Christians" in the pre-Civil Rights Era against, say, the Afican-American community in which there were no mass Christian protests (among the "good "Christians" of the south at least). Not to mention the abuses against the Native Americans carried out by "Christian" colonists from Britain.

I'm from Kansas...people hunt. Everyone hunts.
I know several folks who have mistakenly shot others when they were hunting...
My best friends brother was shot in the food (the gun kicked and he fell backwards at the same time someone else was shooting).
My grandpa mistakenly shot a friend who was in the bushes with no vest.
It happens. It's a non-story. It's what THEY want to be talking about...poor ol' Dick Cheney out there hunting and being an all-american, just like the rest of the middle country!

No one in our family of hunters ever shot or got shot by anyone else. And my uncles and grandfather who were game wardens didn't look too kindly on hunters who were that irresponsible.
That's why we've always been very careful who we let hunt on our property - no drinking city slickers.

Ever. In generations. If your family shoots each other while hunting then you are either big drinkers or big fools.
I'm sorry, but Cheney doesn't like a "tough huntin' man" in this situation. He looks at best like a complete idiot or at worst like a sadistic SOB.

He worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as a Wildlife Manager and they would go to the Ravenna Arsenal every few years to help conduct deer hunting on the base as population control. They were driving deer from one area to another and he was shot at...slugs hitting the ground on either side of him within a few feet.
The one doing the shooting was a member of the military.

I asked him that if he ever received an invitation to go hunting with Dick Cheney, he should refuse it immediately. Then he said, "Maybe we should Dick Cheney to Turino to compete in the biathlon. He'd be the only biathlete to have a snowmobile complete with a defibrilator and oxygen tank." I told him to picture Dick Cheney in cross country skis. That's when he made toh comment about the snowmobile.

62. 10 years, 6 months, 29 days ago. |

If my math is correct anyway (July 12, 1995). I've discussed it here before in great depth and detail, but the short rundown is: Guy with mental problems broke into my house, held a knife to my wifes neck, and proceeded to try and rape her with my then-infant daughter watching. I was upstairs, heard the commotion, came down, and shot the guy in the back.
Like Cheney, I didn't kill the guy. Unlike Cheney, that afternoon will haunt me for the rest of my life. Anyone who can shoot another human being and NOT be traumatized by it isn't human in the first place.
