Widespread street violence in Haiti (over the election) |
|
Haitians take elections seriously and will NOT be cheated , without a "fuss"..
I often wonder what would have happened in 2K, if Millions of people had shown their displeasure by surrounding the White House. SCOTUS, and Congress...
I think the Georgia protests "changed" history..Without them , the puppet would have been placed in power instead of Yushenko..
Apparently Haitians are not going to take this bogus election lying down.. I just hope that people are not mowed down in the streets for asserting their rights as voters.

2. Do you think we are just too big? |
|
I don't mean to riot, we don't need that, just to gather in one space.
Of course even when we do it gets so little attention, there have been huge protests in NY and Washington with little true coverage.
And there are many large protests in individual cities, often on the same day.
Maybe we cover turmoil and protests elsewhere better then we do here.

One of my coworkers is Haitian. He says that they hold elections whenever they want. It's a matter of the last man standing after the riot.

The DR is ultra protective of their tourists. They will never allow it.

9. Actually, I enjoyed my trip to haiti MORE than the DR |
|
DR reminded me of Miami...Haiti was more interesting, and I was happy to spread some tourist money there.. We took cabs, arte at local places and tipped as well as we could afford. the people were lovely.

10. They can be forgiven for not accepting the fact |

...that vote-tampering is part of the democratic process under US auspices. The majority Haitians are just too poor to be distracted by trips to the mall, gorging on fast food and playing video games.
