on how many Repugs that Abramhoff takes down with him. They just let Abramhoff out on a $2 million bail. I hope he wears a bullet-proof vest. The Repugs do not want him to talk. They have too much to hide.

4. OTOH, if he pardons him sooner than that |
|
it could cut off the expanding investigations at the knees.
Reminiscent of how they covered theis asses after Iran/Contra.

7. I am wondering if Neil Bush was involved somehow in all this |
|
Abramoff had that private school in DC right?
Neil Bush has that asinine *Ignite Inc* (company that supposedly produces educational materials)
I haven't checked but I will bet that sleaze figures in this somewhere!

If he follows Poppy's precedence. Of course, there was major differences in Poppy's case.
1. Weinberger had not yet been to trial. 2. Weinberger loudly proclaimed that he was "not going down alone".
So the Christmas Eve pardons appear to have been more concerned with protecting himself than in rewarding faithful supporters.
