Tonight on PBS, a must-see program (again).
Slavery and the Making of America: The Downward Spiral
Monday, February 13, 2006, 9:00 PM EST (at least on my station).

First of four parts looking at slavery in America. You can't know American history - and the USA, period, then and now - if you don't know about slavery. So, crank up the ol' VCR, and tape it. Enjoy.

1. Is "Enjoy" the right word. Seems very important but will be hard to
watch. I may have to skip it.
