i talked to two conservative hunters today. |
|
both guys are totally GOP, religious, gun nuts... one is actually a gun safety instructor. The gun safety instructor said; Well, normally hunters flushing out birds have discussed who will shoot where. I'll take the left, you take the right, and joe will take the center. This avoids accidents. He then looked me straight in the eye and said "If this had happened to me, my hunting license would be revoked"
I next went to my other coworker who said "Wasn't that hilarious?!" I said, yeah, sure but what do you think? He said; "I've almost blasted my hunting partner before. You get so intent on shooting at the birds that you can get dangerously close to shooting people. It happens a lot more than you'd think."
I guess i know which of these guys I'd go hunting with!

2. It is interesting, activities that involve risk, especially ones where |
|
someone ELSE could put YOUR life at risk through their actions... scuba diving is a good example of such an activity...
Sometimes just TALKING to people you get a sense of their approach to the activity, and sometimes get a very good feel that that person is an accident waiting to happen, and that you don't want to do that activity with them.
