Why does it matter if Cheny accidentaly shot some while hunting? |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-13-06 08:04 PM by gordontron
seriously we have much bigger fish to fry, unless there is something I am missing. If there is any real reason we should care at all about this incident (except for the humor factor of course) please tell me. Otherwise I'll just ignore every Cheny-Hunting thread from now on.

1. Nothing to see here. Move along. |
|
Feel free to ignore threads that you don't think matter, but I think this is extraordinarily important myself, and it baffles me that so many are bothered by others thinking it's important. Why does it matter if I find it important and want to discuss it?
Short answer to your question: The Vice President SHOT somebody. That matters.

What are they hiding.
1. If it were you or me and there was an accidental shooting on our property, would we be able to send out our spokeperson to say we will talk when we are ready to talk?
2. Wouldn't we be asked if there was any drinking going on?
3. Wouldn't you be asked if there was problems between you and the victim?
4. Would't all witnesses be questioned on what they saw?
There are a million more question on the differences between Dick Cheney and us. These are just a couple off the top of my head. That is why I think this story is important.
Right now, the "liberal" media is putting out the "aw shucks, Dick Cheney, accidently shoots one of his hunting partners". They are making this story palatable to "Joe six pack". NO. It is up to us that to tell our favorite "joe six packer" that we would not have been treated like that.

26. You are right Justsayin.... |

Because it shows a pattern of lying when there is no need to lie... They are compulsive liers.
So if this is the case for an accidental shooting. What have they done in the serious issues, Iraq, Katrina etc.
It could have been so simple... There was an accident...all they had to do was inform the press and the public of the incident and it might have gone away.
But No... Instead they fuck it up delay reporting it, leave it to one of their largest contributors to inform the local press.
Same ole MO different day.... :hi:

Or, would it only have been an issue if he had taken his head off?

5. Why does it matter if Bush accidentally spied on an innocent ctiizen |
|
He meant well, just trying to save America. Leave them all alone and quit expecting them to live under the same laws everybody else has to.

this was an accident. Accidents happen. Now obviously its pretty serious that he shot someone, but he had no intention to. Spying on the other hand the Bushies love to do, it is no accident. and I'm pissed about the spying thing by the way

17. Arrogant abuse of the law |

We don't even know what happened yet. Huge parts of this story don't even add up. Somebody almost died. I'm amazed that anybody would dismiss it so lightly. It wouldn't be dismissed if it were you, unless you're the biggest employer in your county.

Listen to KO tonight. He said VP's are always remembered for only one thing. VP Dan Quail for mis-spelling potato, and now this one for shooting a guy!

Manly "avid, experienced birdhunter" pulls the single most inexcusable stupid stunt any hunter can pull. A 180 blind shot not knowing where one third of the shooting party was positioned.
Not allowing local law enforcement to interview Cheney (alcohol?)
Inexplicable delay in reporting the story and then just phoning Corpus Christi local paper.
I am sure there is more.

I don't think it deserves THIS much attention. The fact the foiled terror plot wasn't true didn't make it on the front page of the DU and this did is worrying.

16. Go ahead and ignore them if you want to. |
|
But if you genuinely want to know...
It's part and parcel, it's of the same cloth with how these bastards deal with everything. They fuck up, then they cover it up, then they dodge responsibility and blame the victim.
Hubris, arrogance, and most likely criminal negligence. Plus Cheney and target were on a secluded ranch with two women not their wives.
That's why it matters.

this morning, I was sorta irritated about the whole thing, until it came to me that it was just another in a continuing series of cover-ups. It is so their MO to pull stuff like this! I mean, puhleeze, the news came from the owner of the business where the incident occurred?
I think it just took a little longer than usual for my cynicism to kick in this morning. ;)
