Faux News is devoting all air time to the mining story |
|
I guess there is nothing else happening today. Every time I go past that channel, that is what they are talking about. Nothing against the tragedy, however, it appears they are avoiding the Abramoff story.

2. Bet they aren't reporting on that mine's abysmal safety record, are they? |
|
Just in the past year there have been over 140 safety violations, about half of them "serious" and over a dozen accidents. The mining company spins their record as "average" or "normal".

5. they smell pathos in the water.... |
|
Most of the herd doesn't give a rat's buttocks about Abramoff, and CNN has no interest in convincing them that his story is important.

This mine story is sort of important. But it comes as no surprise that faux won't talk about Abramoff. I happen to work for a company that buys from a mine across the highway from us (same ownership) and so the miners story is kind of hitting home with me, although ours is a rock mine and nothing at all like this mine, and very safe as well, comparatively speaking. I hope those men are all found alive, but alas, I fear the worst.

I heard a miner who was in the mine at the time of the explosion, talking on local TV here in WV this morning. He said he didn't see how anyone left down there could still be alive. It's looking more and more as the day goes on that that miner who escaped with his life was right about the trapped miners. The ignorant story about lightning touching off the blast 1200 feet underground, that the coal company bosses and Congress-ho Shellie Capito(R)WV are pushing on TV, is about as crazy as anything I've EVER heard. Anyone who believes a silly assertion like that, would vote for a stupid b*stard like *.
What a "big coal" toady Shellie is and she's there at the mine campaigning for office and using the grieving families as her stage props for her free campaign photo ops. She does NOT even represent that part of our state in congress, but she was drawn there, to collect what freebie "Political Capital" she could, like a fly is drawn to shit. Nothing is too low down and inhuman for a Repig to pull to try and get another fucking vote, NOTHING! And her going on camera and defending that coal company. coast to coast, proves what a sorry, stupid, %#@&^% ^$#@er she in fact is!

a few minutes ago I flipped through the news channels and they had a 1 minute segment on the floods. Good thing it's a "slow" news day, right? :sarcasm:
D'oh! Back to the mine story. nevermind.

Can't blame them. Their audience would much rather hear that than silly stuff about "corruption."
