"HUNTER SENTENCED TO ROAD WORK FOR ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING"
So. What will Dick's sentence be?

=====

01/16/2004

Associated Press

A hunter who critically wounded another hunter in November after mistaking him for a deer was sentenced to 20 days on the sheriff's road crew.

Lane County Circuit Judge Doug Mitchell also banned Trevor Kory Foster, 20, of Eugene from hunting during two years of probation and ordered him to pay $865 in attorney's fees and court costs.

He was convicted of misdemeanor assault and negligently wounding another.

The victim, 21-year-old Nicholas Lee Peterson, said he hopes the case encourages hunters to be more careful. He still cannot straighten his left arm, after being shot in the elbow and ribs with a .270-caliber rifle.

1. Remember, that was Oregon
And plus, Cheney didn't even have the right stamp to be hunting! :D

3. Different.
Shooter wasn't royalty.
Oregon.
Wounded man pressed charges.

Tighten it up a bit, now.

8. Yes, in this case it happened to royalty to a rich lackey on another
rich lackey's property, and the victim is a Bushie sleazoid with plenty to hide and a history of poltical favors received.

No charges will be pressed. Of course.

But the lie about Fuddgate being all the victim's fault and just a little manly sport as usual is slown up by this incident.

4. Cheney is supposed to be an "experienced" hunter.

Accident, my a**. The man is losing his mental faculties.

ETA: At the very least, Cheney should be required to attend hunter safety classes, even if the tutor, who is wearing a leather mini-skirt, fishnet stockings and stiletto heels, has to go to his private bunker to make sure he learns his lesson well. Perhaps a "Swiss Miss" might be available for this. :sarcasm:

6. Valid opinion. And no one asked Scotty if Cheney had his blood tested.
How long does it take for alcohol to leave someone's system? 12 hours? 18 hours? Whatever the time, that's the window of opportunity that Cheney directed to be closed. Law enforcement wasn't allowed near him because then they would have smelled his breath.

9. Cheney won't be troubled with any charges...
.. and as far as hunters being shot by other hunters, I can't find any sympathy for any of them. You're out there to KILL animals and birds, I'm certain the animal families grieve for their loved ones as well. You want to kill things with your big shiny gun? Just don't boohoo that you got hurt while doing it.

11. Sure would be nice to see Cheney working on a road in a nice
orange jump suit. Of course that would never happen, but one can dream.
