that range where Cheney was hunting is the type where pen-raised birds are set in an area convenient for the "hunter" to "hunt", like fish in a barrel.

I don't hunt myself but if I did, I'd never touch this kind of thing.

3. Yeah these "hunt clubs" have been springing up for the rich over the last |
|
30 years. Basically they farm raise the animals so they aren't afraid of humans and then rich guys can walk right up to them and shoot. Its not the same as hunting wild animals that will run if they hear a hunter sneaking up to them. They just closed down one a few years ago that were buying zoo animals and letting rich fat cats gun them down.

Added on edit. Most of these animals won't or can't defend themselves. I remember reading someplace that they had declawed lions that they were "hunting" at one of these Texas hunt clubs. Its really disgusting how its done. There was one in michigan where they fenced in the deer, then herd them towards the hunters.

8. Canned hunts are positively disgusting |
|
And anyone who delights in killing an animal under such circumstances isn't a hunter, he's a murderer of animals.

Killing for sport, sorry to say I used to do that also. The last time hunting, I sat for a while in the woods, every thing was so peacefully and beautiful, and just so right, it was then my ignorance stood out among the beauty of it all, I learned that day. Peace

16. Big thing in Texas for corporate retreats- take all the businessmen |
|
(and women) down to a ranch to spend the week, with setups. My dad worked for a big oil and gas company and came back one time with a large bird which he had stuffed and mounted.
