Dean's Scream Speech = Cheney's Shooting, post them over and... |

1. I made that analogy as well |

I made this point on another thread that that was discussing the relevancy-as a topic worthy of discussion- of the Cheney shooting.
I remember seeing the "Dean Scream" on cable, that first night, and wondered what the big deal was. After a solid week of endless media play, and ridicule from wingnut blogs and pundits, even my friends(progressives) were saying it was bad. I couldn't believe it.
I asked them what was so bad about it and they said that he was no longer a viable candidate because he couldn't contain himself and no one who is the object of ridicule was fit for leadership. I pointed out Bushs' stupidity and ignorant remarks and they couldn't explain it.
I attributed it all to relentless media coverage.
Cheney's mistake is far worse. First, he injured another person with reckless actions, didn't have a hunting stamp(in violation of the law), didn't report it and is the Vice President of the U.S.A.
I say keep ridiculing the guy.

3. Well they have been, at least for now |
|
Actually, I've been surprised with how the media has grabbed onto this.
My cynical side would have assumed that they would be afraid to be undeferential about it.
