"Welcome To Free Republic"
Edited on Tue Feb-14-06 03:14 AM by Syrinx
Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

Irony alert!

They are against big government, and against political fraud and corruption.

You know, they also have a daily "prayer thread" for Bush, which is http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/search?s=pray%20for%20bush;m=all;o=time "> Good For A Laugh.

Now, which president is it that has authorized more spending than the previous 42 Presidents combined?

And which administration is responsible for starting a war based on lies, letting a major American city drown, outing, for political gain, a covert spy working on keeping Iran from getting nuclear weapons, giving contracts to 9/11 financiers to manage major US ports, "misplacing" $8 billion in Iraq, authorizing torture against international law, disguising government propaganda as legitimate news reports and placing them in our media, hacking into Senate computer systems to illegally access Democratic strategy memos, illegal spying on American citizens, shooting an old man in the face, and so many more that I can't keep track...

They want to "champion conservative causes." Well, that's what they do for sure. The promote cronyism, hypocrisy, and amorality (as well as outright evil).

The "Freepers" may be a bunch of idiots, but the Freeper-In-Chief is quietly feeding his RV jones on the gullible fucks, and having the last laugh at their expense... and ours (that is our country's).

1. that explains the NSA spying and faith-based funding
Those two programs are indespensable to rolling back government largesse and championing conservatism in America.

2. They're neither free nor a republic on that site

which is mildly amusing. JimRob is a little dictator, actual Rule of Law is nonexistent, and the only speech they like revolves around hating people who are better than themselves.

I think of JimRob as a pretty good disciple of Willis Carto. Carto discovered that there's a lot of money and fame in championing Lost Causes. The trick is to become the public champion/martyr of the Lost Cause (Holocaust denial for Carto) but privately never actually waste the time and effort to believe in it. JimRob has been excellent at keeping the wackos with real dough happy and throwing it at him, and he's going to milk them until they're totally out. If that takes a dozen four-person "demonstrations" in front of a Fresno Taco Bell and losing a couple more copyright lawsuits, he's going to do it. Personally, wouldn't it be unfortunate if the IRS starts taking a keen interest in his bookkeeping....

3. well said!
I've actually tried to interact with them a few times. But I always get banned for what I think are pretty innocuous statements like "Ann Coulter isn't really a very nice person."
