As long as it's as bad for them . . .
As it has been for us -- and the rest of the world.

Abramoff raised at least $100,000 for President Bush's 2004 re-election effort, earning the honorary title "pioneer" from the campaign.

In Bush's first 10 months in office in 2001, Abramoff and other members of his lobbying team logged at least 200 contacts with the administration on behalf of at least one client, the Northern Mariana Islands. The meetings included some with high-ranking officials such as then-Attorney General John Ashcroft and policy advisers in Vice President Dick Cheney's office. The Marianas' agenda included seeking friendly hires at federal agencies and preservation of its exemption from the U.S. minimum wage.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan could not say Tuesday whether Abramoff ever met President Bush. But when asked at the White House about this, the spokesman said that "what he is reportedly acknowledging doing is unacceptable and outrageous."

Maybe the secret Bribery Program is linked to the secret Wiretapping Program and you can pay to eavesdrop on other people?

on edit: perhaps this is part of Bush's secret Plan to Revitalize the Economy??

second edit: interesting choice of words from the White House: "outrageous" and "unacceptable" but not "untrue". Hmm.... :freak:

The standard non-denial denial from our public servant in the White House.

...is linked to the secret blackmail program, which is an alternative program designed for those not already participating in the secret bribery program...

21. Number of lobbyists has doubled under this administration
Read last week that the number of lobbyists has doubled since 2000. I'll try to find link.

Does this suggest that the government is for sale more so than ever before?

26. Read all about the "K Street project" here
Welcome to the Machine
How the GOP disciplined K Street and made Bush supreme.

By Nicholas Confessore

But beginning with the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994, and accelerating in 2001, when George W. Bush became president, the GOP has made a determined effort to undermine the bipartisan complexion of K Street. And Santorum's Tuesday meetings are a crucial part of that effort. Every week, the lobbyists present pass around a list of the jobs available and discuss whom to support. Santorum's responsibility is to make sure each one is filled by a loyal Republican--a senator's chief of staff, for instance, or a top White House aide, or another lobbyist whose reliability has been demonstrated. After Santorum settles on a candidate, the lobbyists present make sure it is known whom the Republican leadership favors. "The underlying theme was place Republicans in key positions on K Street. Everybody taking part was a Republican and understood that that was the purpose of what we were doing," says Rod Chandler, a retired congressman and lobbyist who has participated in the Santorum meetings. "It's been a very successful effort."

may be implicated in. They discuss the Sun Cruz deal, but not the hit on Boulis that Abramoff almost assuredly ordered.

25. It's "unacceptable" that he was caught and "outrageous" he pled guilty.
Members of the criminal cabal are supposed to take the fall and keep their mouths shut. If Abramoff has family, they'd better stay out of motor vehicles and small planes.

so this fits right in there.

Okay so they still aren't telling the truth but there is some cynergy there....so they got that going for themselves, which is nice.
