Ohioans, convince Hackett to run as an Independent!
Shouldn't the Ohio Dem voters decide who should be the candidate instead of the Party hacks? Thats why we have primaries. Can't we be trusted to "make the right decision?

Paul Hackett proved in August '05 that he could draw republican voters away from their party. A northern liberal like Sherrod Brown can not do that. If we want to win back the senate seat for the people of Ohio, we need a strong leader who speaks to people upset with politicians and attracts voters from both parties including progressives like me.

Here is an inside line to the Hackett campaign, if you agree call and suggest Paul Hackett run as an independent!

3. You do know this guy has some radical republican ideas
like with immigration?

I mean, Diebold has probably already decided the election but just because someone slaps 'grassroots' on their campaign doesn't mean they are the most progressive candidate out there.

Brown is a DU wet dream when it comes to issues regarding choice, environment, free-trade, the war and the patriot act and his voting record backs that up. Even the PDA, one of the more liberal groups out there, endorsed Brown over Hackett.

If you want to do some good, convince him to run against Schmidt again. We need 15 seats in the house and he would almost surely beat that lunatic this time around. And his moderate-leaning ways is a good fit in this conservative district

5. Sorry, folks.
I'm as disappointed as you are that Hackett was pushed out -- but DU is still not the place to support third-party (or independent) campaigns.

Locking.
