2. I would tell them thanks for getting rid of a whiny prima donna |
|
But I'm too busy wondering how they managed to convince the "grassroots" not to give money to Hackett.

Hackett lost the only race he ever ran (to a crazy woman no less) and expected to get the Senate nomination handed to him on a silver platter....

8. God forbid we grow the Party...a great senator and a great congressman |
|
is better than a great senator.
But try telling that to screaming DU'ers.
I hate the DLC more than most, and I can tell this isn't a case of DLC-style watering down of the ranks. This is just smart politics.
Too bad Hackett couldn't hack it. I kill me.

17. I think it's sad he rolled over |
|
He should've stud up and said "no". Or taken the House option. It seems to me the democrats are more worried about the House than anything. This is where we can hold hearings and everything. I wish he didn't drop out of politics all together. Maybe it wasn't for him. Maybe he wasn't the fighting democrat we all thought he was. Sad because I really like him.

9. Sorry are you from Ohio? |
|
Hackett ran real close in the most solid republican area in the state. Also the #s from that election are highly suggestive of fraud. The counting was stopped because of humidity? We do have A.C. here.

11. face it, we just chased a decorated democrat out of the party |
|
now who's whining?
We're pathetic. Primaries are not about having the self-appointed "leadership" tell us who to vote for. Today, I am one step farther away from voting for a democrat with this kind of crap going on, and you better believe I'm a prima donna, and proud of it.
If I were Hackett, I'd run independent-progressive and fuck the democrats in Ohio. I'd vote for him. If he's not utterly clear on the issues, that would be a reason not to vote for him, but to have our so called "leadership" chase him off by playing on his sense of duty riles me to no end.
Run Hackett. Show these idiots what democracy really means.

Senator (Reid or Schumer),
Congratulations. Your behavior in reference to Paul Hackett's candidacy has lost the party my support. Until Democratic "leadership" starts basing their decisions on the wishes of the people, rather than playing back-room political games the party will receive no more financial contributions or time from me.
Frankly, your actions in this matter disgust me.

Today, I am ashamed to be a Democrat.
Shame on you and Sen. Reid (changed to Schumer for Reid's email, obviously) for pressuring and going behind Paul Hackett's back in order to force him to leave the Ohio race for Senate. The point of a primary is for voters to decide who should run against someone. For anyone to stand in the way of democracy is utterly unacceptable.
