I am sick and tired of one thing on DU: Being told what is OK to discuss
by some posters.

Every single time ANYTHING happens...I don't care if it's something Fitzwhat'shisname came out with....porn written by Scooter or Lynne Cheney--- whatever--

There is always a flock of DUers who will say:

"Conspiracy"

"This has NO legs--focus on something else."

"This is a non-story--ridiculous."

You all get the idea...so--let me remind those people--and I assume you know who you are--

Bill Clinton was almost removed from office because he got a half-assed blowjob.

Therefore, if DUers want to speculate all to hell and back on the ONLY person shot by a Vice President of the United States that I can remember in the past 150 years or so---screw you if you want to come along and explain how stupid "we" are.

8. You ever say anything like all that up there to anyone else?
About a topic you don't think is worthy?

Just curious about a possible reason... time will tell.

11. OK, I put my coffee pot in the dishwasher before I was able to get more
than a cup this morning.

Could you go more slowly and ask me specifically what you are interested in, and I will try to answer your question.

If you are asking, "Are you, Thtwudbeme, ever a flaming bitch..." then I would have to write that you have been on DU long enough to know the answer to that.

I sure don't. I have as much right to decide what's worth discussing as anyone and so do you.Eff 'em!

13. I don't get it...
someone disagreed with you and your apparantly angry?

Those people have ever right to post--I don't get it...if you find you are disagreeing with people here, where most are already vetted to a cetain point of view, what happens when your out in the public, with people who are NOT as sympathic to the democratic party?

18. I think her point is that there are people
who want to quash discussions without much explanation as to why, instead of ignoring them, not that she was mad at someone for disagreeing with her.

28. Nope. I don't get that worked up over what people on DU write.
Particularly people I don't know.

However, with this many members on DU, I think it is...let's use the word "odd" that so many people need to explain what is worth talking about and what's not-

everyone focuses on different things. Thats why I like DU. You get a complete liberal picture on a lot of issues. Keep posting.

17. Girl...I agree with you...talk about anything you want at DU.....
The event of Cheney shooting the guy might have been just another incident...

But what is telling is how the incident was handled...
And that is the story....

The very fact that they delayed reporting the story...
They delayed in notifying the local police...
Instead of an official White House spokesperson announce the accidental shooting...they let a political donor notify the local media....
Blame the victim...
Scotty McFellon twisting, and spinning and lying again...

The very way they handled this situation is indicitive of how they have handled all situations, poorly, irrationally and childishly. Iraq and Katrina come to mind....

Great Rant....

Happy Valentines Day:toast:

19. I see DU as an ongoing discussion
So even a discussion about the merits of what is being discussed can be enlightening. I have never understood the vehemence that some seem to have when a particular topic they don't seem worthy is discussed, as I find it pretty easy to click on the topics that interest me and pass over the ones that don't without much difficulty. But hey, it all goes into the mix of the discussion and the exchange of ideas. Obviously there is no requirement that anyone be a genius, or even a political genius, to express their opinions here. I take the scoldings of these people as to what is important or not with a grain of salt.

I really enjoy your posts and you as a DU'er. :hi:

I hope that I did not come across as to what should/can be discussed. I apologize if it came off this way. This is not was intended.

I am learing very quickly that having a differing opinion on DU can be deadly.

Thank you for your post, and I again, I apologize.

26. It's not a "differing opinion" to write that a "story has no legs"
I agree with most of the medical opinions I see you write.

However, to write that a story "isn't a story" just makes you sound like you are trying to shut people up, quite frankly.

It might be your opinion that a little buckshot between friends in Texas is no big deal---however, in a few parts of the US, it is certainly a big deal.

It's an even bigger deal that the WH acts as if they are trying to cover this up.

31. I am not going to re-hash this out on your thread.
All I can say is that I am truly sorry if I have offended you. This was not my intent. I assumed that I was having a differing opinion. I guess I have been set straight.

I am logging off DU now, and I am going to have a cup of coffee. I am sure that I have now made alot of enemies here with my statements and that bothers me a great deal.

I will no longer discuss this story with anyone else.

Please accept my apology.

25. Say It Sister and Say It Loud
Who gives a rat's rectum about these people who wish to rain on the parade.

You know people who are famous can tell you that they heard remarks like you will never make it, why even try, nobody is going to want you in the movies... etc,....If they had listen to these negative remarks, they would of never made it, remember, an opinion is just that an opinion.

These type of comments do not become law or become righteous, so say it Loud and say it Proud.....

29. OK. As long as you don't talk about the White Sox
and how some of them skipped out on the White House ceremony. That story's a definite plant to whip up the angry white male sports talk radio voter. ;)

Sometimes I suspect these stories are too convenient. It strains the imagination to think that Cheney would shoot an old guy to plant a story that will rally hunters to his side against the libruls while things are going south for the Administration, but it has crossed my mind.

I say discuss what you want and by the same token people should also be able to say they think it's counterproductive to give the story too much buzz. But they should stop short of telling you what to say or not to say and you should stop short of telling them to keep their opinions about your opinion to themselves also.

Everyone has a right to their opinion. Nobody has a right to say that others ought not voice theirs. Discussing the implaicatios of buzz, however is fair game as long as it's not prohibitive to any speech.

33. Discussion isn't the problem
It's the fact that the board is CONSUMED with no other discussion.

Really......do you think that every poster at DU should post a separate thread for each and every thought they have on this issue?

A FEW threads discussing the matter should be enough..........but, nooooooooo...it has to CONSUME the discussion.

Every "brilliant" thought, from every DUer MUST have it's own thread.
