Whittington's been dead since Saturday
I said this earlier, but I was thinking if he was shot in the face, Whittington's head would be bandaged and no one would be able to see him. Which would give the WH time to come up with a plan.

Or, maybe I'm just making my tinfoil hat

It is strictly forbidden for any unauthorized staff member of the hospital--Secret Service or not--to disclose the condition of any patient.

4. Just posted this on another thread ...
... we've seen none of the usually trotted-out photos of a smiling Whittington, enthusiastic statements from family members about how well he's doing, etc.

Unfortunately, I think the poor guy is already on every life-support system available to keep him alive, while the WH spinmeisters cobble together a story ...

My guess on the press release we can expect: "Mr. Whittington passed away due to a pre-existing heart condition which had gone undiagnosed and untreated. His passing was inevitable, and is totally unrelated to the shooting incident."

20. Did you hear that Dr on CNN this morning?
He was asked a question, something about shortening this man's life and he freaked and responded "He will have the full life that god intended." I found that response quite odd both in tone, body language, and content.

Perhaps it is that area of the country but I can't ever remember a doctor invoking god in quite that way at a press conference before.

27. Yes,
otherwise he would have been interviewed. The delay in reporting was to allow time for some kind of an explanation. 200 pieces of buckshot in the face, neck and upper chest at 30 yards has got to cause very serious injuries. As someone pointed out on the DU earlier, this was not simply fallout from shooting at something high above -- this was a direct hit at a close distance.

My husband, who is not a political junkie like I am, says that this is the big one that will bring down this administration. He is rarely wrong.

43. "totally unrelated to the shooting incident" which was
HIS fault of course, and probably caused by the pre-existing heart condition, which, unfortunately, led him to walk in front of Dickie's gun and even probably caused the trigger to pull ITSELF...

Brother # 2: Well hey there, Tom! Your best friend is dead!"

Brother # 1: "WHAT?!?! OMG!!!! That's horrible!"

Brother # 2:"Yep"

Brother # 1: (between sobs)"You don't tell people bad news like that! You have to build up to it!"

Brother # 2:"How do you build up to a thing like that?"

Brother # 1: "You say something like, he was on the roof - playing. Then he fell. Then we took him to the doctor. Then he died."

Brother #2: "Oh. OK. Sorry man."

Brother # 1:"That's OK, Rusty. How's Mom?"

Brother # 2: "She's on the roof"

42. Our family liked that joke
since the kids were small. (Only it started with a cat and suggesting they should have said "the cat's on the roof and we can't get her down")

Several years ago my son called and told me he'd broken up with his college girl friend and she had moved out. I told him I was shocked. He knew I liked her a lot and he hadn't even told me there were any problems.

He apologized and said "Let me start over. Our relationship is on the roof and we can't get it down"

Thanks for the reminder.

But I hope the old man isn't on the roof, but I hope the bush administration is.

45. Yes, But Which Way?
If the diagram is correct, then a large number of pellets are lodged in or near his heart.
Recent news reports have confirmed the presence of pellets in his heart.

They are calling it a "heart attack" so they will be able to say he died of a "heart attack".
I'd call it being shot in the heart.

Which also makes it look somewhat less accidental.

39. No, but...
I do not think he is dead, yet. A coverup of that would be too hard to pull off, and too dangerous if one got caught at it. I do think he is far more seriously injured that they are letting on, though.

Admitted straight to the ICU? It's very hard to get admitted to the ICU. You don't get there unless they need to watch your every heartbeat, and they don't watch your every heartbeat unless they think that heartbeat is in imminent danger of disappearing altogether. I've had two separate severe life-threatening emergencies in the last five years. My laundry list of trouble included things like severe blood loss, multiple pulmonary emboli, an intestinal obstruction, and an out of control systemic staph infection verging on septic shock. I spent, all total, about two months in the hospital. And I never saw a moment in ICU.

The guy is probably dead and they're just waiting for a staph infection or some other bacteria to attack his body so they can then say he died from THAT and not the gun shot wound.

Where did I hear that? Randi? Mike Malloy? Majority Report? Sorry. I can't remember, but it makes sense to me!:hi:
