Great strides have recently been taken to prevent more than 90,000 horses from being slaughtered in the United States for human consumption abroad. Congress passed an amendment to the Agriculture Appropriations bill to stop horse slaughter during 2006, but unbelievably, the U.S. Department of Agriculture refuses to implement this temporary ban on horse slaughter and announced a plan to continue the killing. Such blatant, bureaucratic corruption is more evidence for why we must immediately pass a permanent ban on horse slaughter -- we cannot rely on the agency to do its job.

I've never seen the difference, but there are plenty of people who disagree with me.

while some see a horse's life as valuable but a cow's as nothing. I don't think the animals see it that way.
