For those lovers who like to send flowers: |
|
I like to buy Martha Stewart stuff because she is a democrat. So when I started using her Martha's Flowers for bouquets for Mother's Day and for sick friends, or for long-distance birthdays, I noticed something very unusual. (Now, mind you, I do send a lot of flowers. Usually, the day they arrive I will get a phone call from the recipient thanking me for the lovely bouquet.)
The first time I used Martha was when my cousin was diagnosed with cancer. Not only did I receive a lovely call from my cousin, but I received calls from HER VISITORS who were awed by their beauty, wanting to know where I ordered them from.
From then on, I only sent Martha's flowers. I always get calls, not only from the recipient, but from PEOPLE WHO JUST HAPPEN TO SEE THEM!!
Well, my mother-in-law's birthday was in late January. I sent her lilies, her favorite flower. I missed her at home - she left to visit her daughter for 10 days the day before they arrived. She had her neighbor pick them up. When she got home - 11 days later, her neighbor came to see her - because she wanted to drop the flowers off - because she just HAD to see how beautiful they STILL were. My MIL called, just gushing about how healthy and gorgeous they were.
So - I just answered my door - my husband sent me Martha's tulips (my absolute favorite flower). This is the first time I have ever actually seen flowers from her service up close. WOW. Tulips are famous for being wilty - and quick. these are stunning - and they look (and sound when I trimmed the stems) just cut.
Just had to share that - yes, they cost more - but next time you send flowers - you might want to check this Democrat out.

4. Yeah, I went to her office and delivered them myself... |
|
very cheesy, I know, but what can I say?
In any case, I was in her building and on my way to her office when I saw her head into the bathroom. So, I waited outside and surprised her when she came out. She was with a coworker, so she got to flaunt the flowers -- which is, after all, the most important part of the whole thing
Whole Foods had two dozen long-stem roses for $25, btw. I always hear that -places like Whole Foods and Wild Oats are more expensive than Winn Dixie or Publix, but that is WAY cheap.
