Less than 150 to 200 pieces of birdshot!
A mere fleshwound. A minor hunting accident. Accidents happen. And Whittington didn't follow protocol. He is in very stable condition; extremely stable.

Yes, Whittington suffered a minor silent heart attack type of episode today when a birdshot piece touched his heart. But the birdshot piece is in a fixed position and is not expected to travel. The number of other pieces of birdshot is not known but could range anywhere from more than five to less than 150 to 200.

Cheney feels badly but didn't do anything he wasn't supposed to do. Move along.
