I am so sick of Ed Schultz wanting dems to cater to the repugs
He is on right now trashing Murtha for "not supporting the military" because of Murth's comments about recruitment.

Schultz also trashed Kerry when he said that he did not believe that this war was winnable.

Basically, he is trashing them for speaking their minds. I think it's about time that dems are speaking their minds.

1. I've been listening to big Ed for several months now.
Just turned him off and went back to Randi.

I have suspected Ed of being a repuke/DLC type plant. I am not thrilled he made the US Military airwaves.

4. Ed Shultz is not one of us. I came to that conclusion by listening to him
He trashes Howard Dean, and praises Chuck Hagel.

That tells you all you need to know.

The fact that he is now trashing Murtha is not suprising to me.

He's a "former" Republican. Kinda like those people we see from time to time that are "formerly gay".

Now I know. Arianna Huffington was also a Republican. But I judge her for what she says now, and now she's liberal.

Shultz: Not fooling me!

9. Yes, he loves Hagel
I even sent him an e-mail a few months back pointing out that Hagel was CEO of a computer voting machine company when he upset an incumbent. Of course, that e-mail never got acknowledged.

18. Is Ed Shultz the guy Randi talked about on CSPAN?
If so, then yes, he's strait-up, bought and paid for DLC. He took the money, Randi didn't. I've never listened to him because I've been content with Randi for the past 5 or so years.

Keep an eye out. Watch Randi's interview on C-Span. Hear about the lunch and the recruitment by the Democratic party. The ones who still support the war.

I haven't read/heard enough to say she is a liberal. Probably just speaking truth and common sense. :) But as I said I haven't really followed Arianna but I do like her. I tried listening to Ed but I get really weird vibes from him. I didn't know he praised ES&S Hagel.

Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 04:47 PM by Algorem
Bush had said something about 'these decisions must be made with sober judgement'.Schultz said it was a veiled shot at Murtha's sobriety because Murtha 'likes to tip a few'.Does Schultz come out of cover to do damage control spin and such for Republicans?

43. I'd rather listen to Randi
I don't need Mike trashing Dems from the opposite side.

Ed's weird. One minute he's saying the Dems aren't speaking out enough, then he's not happy with their message.

Still, he supported Cindy, and has been pretty kind about Kerry since Kerry's people called him up and asked to be on his show. I suspect he has a bit of an ego.

Even so, he's my first progressive radio guy, and if he can speak to moderates, then that might be a good thing.

11. I agree ....... Ed is an intellectaul lightweight.
Murtha has 2 purple hearts, a bronze star, and years of service to the Marines and this country he
has earned the right to say what he wants. Murtha was talking about not joining up so as to go
to Iraq which he deems a lost cause.

Ed gets good #s but does not really understand the issues.

I don't think he's actually a liberal;
I don't think he actually has strong feelings
about many of the ideals he claims to support.

I think he's a phony.
I think he's just a little-known radio show host
who is trying to cash in by PLAYING THE ROLE of
the "Anti-Limbaugh".

28. That is not the point.
Yes, it does get extreme here. But there are times to get mad at someone. Big Eddie in his self-importance is hurting our party. People did not say much when he went after Dean, called us a cult, the usual stuff. He has attacked nearly everyone but the centrist Democrats.

Watch the interview on C-Span with Randi Rhodes, and see what she says about who she and Ed Met with. No doubt what is going on.

If you want to listen to a radio host who bashes unfairly Kerry, Dean, and Murtha...then feel free. I choose not to do so.

I do think we should show republicans why they should vote for democrats but we shouldn't cater to them and make us change what the party believes in. And anyone who tells another person to shut up is just plain wrong and quite honestly undemocratic.

No one will agree with anyone 100 percent of the time. All take all the liberal radio I can get. He's my only local progressive radio guy. I can also get Randi in later in the afternoon. Occasionally I've heard Mike as well.

I prefer Ed and Randi. Mike can kiss my grits most days, since he goes out of his way to trash Dems from the other side.
