himself. He would have been either tackled, tasered, or shot. If he survived the subduing, he would have been hauled down to be processed and charged with as many charges as they could come up with.

Focus on that last word. Accident. Accidents are treated far differently from intentional acts. There are dozens (hundreds?) of hunting accidents every year. Game wardens often are on the scene not long thereafter.

BTW, Skidmore is a Texas town just on the opposite side of Corpus Christi from where the accident occurred.
