TIMING! Laura Bush to to visit Charlotte hospital to discuss heart disease

Tue, Feb. 14, 2006 CHARLOTTE, N.C. - First Lady Laura Bush will visit a Charlotte hospital on Wednesday to recognize American Heart Month as she continues to try to raise awareness of heart disease.

Bush is national ambassador for The Heart Truth Campaign, which is sponsored by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health. She will participate in a discussion about American Heart Month at Carolinas Medical Center.

Since her husband's election, Bush has called on Americans, especially women, to exercise daily, eat healthy foods, avoid tobacco, refrain from drinking too much alcohol and get preventive screenings to detect heart problems early.
