Whittington/Funeralgate...are they going to discuss this at all?

EDITED header from heart attack/ICU

what ABOUT the fricking Funeralgate scandal?

wait a minute

here:

"Investigative reporter Roses Prichard writes, "As in 2000, the withholding of information about the whistleblower lawsuit known as Funeralgate will be a major factor in the mid-term election. During the 2000 campaign, the media failed to inform the electorate that candidate George Bush was a defendant in a lawsuit brought by Eliza May, the fired executive director of the agency that regulated Texas's funeral homes. It accused him of lying under oath to conceal influence-peddling and obstruction of justice by the governor's office on behalf of a major contributor, funeral giant SCI, allegations germane to his promise to restore honor and integrity to the White House. This year the media has failed to inform Texans that one of Bush's co-defendants in the case, Attorney General John Cornyn, the GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate, used taxpayers' money to settle the case last fall - imposing an extraordinary provision that all records from the 2 1/2 year old lawsuit be kept secret forever.""

and this article by elfboy Michael Isikoff, with some VERY damning info, DISAPPEARED from the msnbc site, just like the beer references:

http://archive.democrats.com/view.cfm?id=1328

In spring 1998 the commission subpoenaed SCI records and ordered unannounced inspections of the firm's funeral parlors. Waltrip accused the inspectors of "storm trooper" tactics.
According to Johnnie B. Rogers, a folksy lobbyist who now serves as SCI's lawyer, on April 15 he and Waltrip dropped off a letter at the governor's office demanding a halt to the investigation. Rogers told NEWSWEEK that he and Waltrip were ushered in to see Joe Allbaugh, then Bush's chief of staff and now his presidential campaign manager.

Rogers says Bush popped his head in and spotted Waltrip. "Hey Bobby, are those people still messing with you?" Bush said, according to Rogers. When Waltrip said they were, Rogers recalled that the governor turned to him and said, "Hey, Johnnie B. Are you taking care of him?"

nothing new here, but it not only doesn't get reported in the M$M, when it DOES, it gets disappeared

2. good stuff on funeralgate here
http://www.bushwatch.com/gravedigger.htm

I spoke with Ron Fournier, Jim Warren and Mike Tackett about Funeralgate in 2000, asking them if they knew who Eliza May was, and none of them did.

when I asked them why Bush's perjury in the case wasn't as relevant to Clinton's alleged perjury WRT his impeachment, they acted like I was some UFO loon, and said that Funeralgate would have no impact on the election

what a surprise that they were correct, and that I've heard/read/seen no mention of this, except on prog radio

they also disappeared an article that quoted Bush WRT SCI, which, if the witness can be believed, demonstrates his PERjury.

6. Oh shit, get ready.
Criminals commit crimes and/or kill each other. This old dude (whittington) is gonna die. Confirmation battle for V.P. coming up before too long. Watch the people who chant Chappaquidick repeatedly now rationalize this one.

9. this just brings back to me how INFURIATED I was during the
Funeralgate thing, and that NOBODY in the press covered it.

apparently Isikoff did, but MSNBC PULLED it, and he never bothered to write another story on it

too bad there wasn't any necrophilia involved; no sex, no Mikey interest?
