Oct 19 05Relevant because of Bush's push for executive powers beyond what he is entitled to have constitutionally. Especially with all the drum-beating for Iran invasion lately, it's worth noting that neither the 9/11 or Iraq War Resolution was unilaterally considered to be justification for Bush to do whatever he wanted to in a broader "War on Terror" without having to go back explicitly to Congress. Rice, on the other hand, while acknowledging that the resolutions do NOT in fact include that, argues that Bush can do this because to do otherwise would constrain Bush's powers.
I believe that every person should call all senators and reps and ASK THEM, get them on record, as to whether he or she believes that Bush can go off and invade or attack another country without explicit congressional involvement.
