3. Nope, not spying on you.
But, how were those apple-cinnamon Cheerios you had for breakfast? I've been meaning to try those.

2. My DVD-burner was probably the smartest computer investment
burner I've made in years.

I haven't actually needed anything it's backed up yet, but if/when I do, it's available.

4. I backup all of my data from time-to-time.
No matter the data, I figure if I took the time to create it, it's worth backing up. My choice is an external hard drive, and I backup once or twice a month.

5. Other - Terraservers
Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 05:16 PM by Rosco T.
I have a pair of Buffalo TerraServers that I keep my video work on.

Each is 1.6tb of Raid-5 fault tolerant storage, I can lose a drive and keep going till I replace it and never lose a byte. Plugs in to the network, accessable from all machines and is fast as hell.

addendum.. I also have a pair of 320gb drives plugged into each one as 'overflow backup' for the really important stuff..

1.6tb = 37 DVD'r

7. That blows away my shoeboxes full of 1.44MB 3.5" floppy disks
Maybe it's time to get an external hard drive, or two.

My real concern is long term storage for digital images. Old prints, slides, and negatives just don't seem to die, but long term digital storage seems like a big unknown. It's hard to believe that in 50 years someone will still have the digital files of pictures I take now.

6. Other. actually a combination...
Ever since losing 300+ MB of very important data about 15 years ago, I have a regular backup plan.
I backup only important data (new apps or work files, bookmarks, etc) on a regularly scheduled basis and all data periodically.
So, it's a combo of two of your choices.
