5. Let's see... here are my guesses.

9/11 would not have happened, as terrorism would not be forgotten in the transition from Clinton to Gore. He would have implemented the Hart-Rudman commission recommendations, continued pursuing bin Laden covertly in Afghanistan, etc. My guess is we would have read something like, "FBI agents arrested at least 15 men of apparent Arab descent in an apparent attempt to hijack airplanes at some airports across the Northeast. The apparent leader of the group, Mohammed Atta, proclaimed their innocence. Conservative activists, led by Ann Coulter, blasted the FBI for racially profiling brown-skinned men."

The economy still would have had a recession, but it would have been much milder, as when Gore spent money, it would have been on upgrading our infrastructure and putting people to work. We would soon be back to balanced budgets and nobody would even think of a Social Security "crisis"

The Clean Air act would have still been in effect, not superseded by the milder Clear Skies initiative, etc

John Rogers & Sam Alito would not be on the Supreme Court, O'Connor tries to hang on, but Stevens retires instead of her.
