First off I mean no disrespect to anyone. Hell I'm part Cherokee myself.

An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun in one hand pulling a male
buffalo with the other. He says to the waiter, "Want coffee."

The waiter says, "Sure chief, coming right up." He gets the Indian a tall
mug of coffee. The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp, turns and
blasts the buffalo with the shotgun, causing parts of the animal to
splatter every where.

The next morning the Indian returns. He has his shotgun in one hand
pulling another male buffalo with the other. He walks up to the counter
and says to the waiter, "Want coffee."

The waiter says, "Whoa, Tonto! We're still cleaning up your mess from
yesterday. What was all that about anyway?"

The Indian smiles and proudly says, "Training for upper management
position in United States Government: Come in, drink coffee, shoot the
bull, leave mess for others to clean up, disappear for rest of day. "

1. Funny, I guess
I don't see what the "Indian" part has to do with it -- doesn't seem essential to the joke.

2. Goes with the "shoot the bull" motif, I suppose.
I love the "I'm part Cherokee" disclaimer. My favorite comeback for that is, "But then again, aren't we all."

I'm part Cherokee too. I've gotten the impression other Native Americans aren't impressed. I went into an intertribal store last year and commented that I was part Native American, and the person behind the counter answered in a somewhat cynical voice, "Let me guess. Cherokee, right?"

Even so, I'm proud that I share this distinction with such folks as Will Rogers.

3. I'm part Cherokee, too....
And damn proud of it. We are the only tribe with a written alphabet. Tell that to the next person who gets snarky with you!
