Has anybody ever been listed as "VERY" stable by a hospital?
I've not heard that particular condition report, anymore than "somewhat critical", "extremely good" or "sort of guarded"...

====

2/13 - The Kenedy County Sheriff’s department was notified by the Secret Service Saturday evening about the shooting accident involving Vice President Dick Cheney chief deputy Gilbert San Miguel said during a press conference today.

Cheney accidentally shot Austin attorney Harry Whittington with birdshot during a quail hunt at the Armstrong Ranch Saturday. Whittington’s condition was listed as “very stable” according to Peter Banko, hospital administrator at Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial.

“This is a hunting accident,” San Miguel said. “There was no alcohol, no misconduct on anyone’s part,” he said. San Miguel declined to say if he was allowed to interview the Vice President Saturday. “That’s as far as I am going to go,” he said after being asked the question by reporters repeatedly.

1. I don't think...
The description "very stable" is one that too many people would use to reference me. ;-)

4. 'stable' is one of those words that sound stupid when qualified.
It's either stable, or it's not. If it's stable, being very stable looks no different from just plain stable.
Like 'ironic'. Saying something is very ironic...it doesn't mean anything to add the word 'very'. Is it ironic, or isn't it?

I think that must be another spin term for the repubs who don't have much of a vocab. :D

5. Isn't that one step down from "Super Duper Stable?"
Or is that "Super Secret Stable?" Either makes as much sense as "Very Stable." As in: None.

15. "Super Duper Stable"...
...with a persistent but mild case of death. No further complications expected.

6. It's common practice right before a bullet travels to the patient's heart.
I think it comes from old Loony Tunes episodes, or maybe it's an old vaudeville gag.

11. "very stable"? Try "fair". I would suppose "very stable" means
the patients condition is never gonna change.

"Stable" refers to the condition.
One can be stable in fair/good/poor/critical condition.

Just means the condition is not changing.

Never heard of "very stable"

But not surprised. Not with this bunch.

a special term just for him. I suppose if he dies, they will say he is resting.

20. Only heard very stable in regards to disc golf flying discs.
They are classified as under-stable, stable, and over-stable and describe their flight characteristics. I have heard discs described as very stable.
