You know the mood is changing when even on non-DU sites... |
|
On another site I frequent, which is non-political, there was a "cheney hunting" thread. And someone wondered if maybe the shooting victim died already and that the "heart attack" yesterday was to make it look like there were complications before he died... so that the nation could slowly get used to the idea
:tinfoilhat:
When people on non-political sites start thinking this way about the * Admin... Hmmmmm....

"Now, I want to make this very clear - I fully support the shooting of hunting companions. I just feel that the Vice President should have consulted the appropriate Congressional committee members before spraying his "friend" with lead pellets. We all support the Vice President in hunting down and bringing to justice the lawyers in his hunting party."

5. What are you talking about??? |
|
There's a few people who honestly believe this was a hunting accident, it's their tradition. That's why they see this as a diversion. There's a few others who see that the jokes need to be kept down, if the guy actually dies. But other than that, I've seen no overall opinion that Democrats shouldn't make this the serious issue that it is. I don't know what you're talking about.

4. I was over on another site the other day to see if they had |
|
anything to say about Dick's "unfortunate event". It was a gun-toting 'right-to-bear-arms' site. They didn't about that (yet), but they did have a really hit-the-nail-on-the-head spot about supporting our troops means bringing them home alive. Really surprised the heck outta me.
Hubby tries to put up with me, knows we're in deep doo-doo in this country, and thinks that supporting the cause is just fine as long as it doesn't cost him much in terms of real money. He's very quiet when talk turns political because he doesn't want to make waves most of the time.
The other day, we went to breakfast with several friends and someone made a crack about the Iraq war, surveillance, etc. Sounded like he was supporting *. Didn't come right out and say it. I was really surprised when Hubby said "If you support this war so much, then why don't you put your money where your mouth is and enlist." The guy just looked at him dumbfounded and shut up.
