UAE residents can now apply for US visa online
ABU DHABI — The US has launched a new online process to speed up visas for UAE residents wishing to travel to the country, as the recovery in visits continues following the post-September 11 slump.

Students and visitors to the US will have to complete the new Internet application from the start of next month, the US Embassy announced yesterday.

"It means people who come to the embassy for a visa are in and out a lot quicker," the US consul in Abu Dhabi, Robert Dolce, said. "We realise that after 9/11 there were some difficulties because the 'secure borders' was put in place."

people born in russia have to jump through hoops to get visitors' visas. i thought the cold war was over.
