1. Why don't they just shoot them in the cages?

It's almost gone down to that level anyway. Put the birds in a cage, pull the trigger.

2. Oh those simple questions

Such as saying this was a normal shot. Then realizing even at a short distance Cheney was shooting helter skelter point blank into the brush at a low level. Don't even give the birds a chance to break for cover but spray them and any other unfortunate thing at ground level. The angle of the raised barrel of course must be lower the further away from the accidental victim who was standing? jumping in the air? flying ten feet off the ground?

An NRA hunter who I happened to speak with was furious at the incident, the cover up and the lack of accountability. The operative word: "furious".
