There isn't a media gathering at the hospital. They aren't camped out like the terri sciavo thing. They're being pretty quiet, considering the VP SHOT SOMEONE IN THE FACE.

5. I answered yes, BUT I think his family has asked this be kept |
|
out of the media as much as possible. Blitzer had the ER Doc scheduled on his show yesterday, but Whittington's family asked the Doc not to do any public interviews, so he canceled his appearance with Blitzer.
I think that plays at least a small part in why we're not getting a lot of updates.
The other reason I suspect is that the WH has requested it be downplayed too!

6. I don't understand this "what the family wants" stuff? |
|
Supposedly Cheney spoke with the guy by telephone yesterday. I would be interested in hearing what he has to say. If he doesn't want to talk to no one all he has to do is say so.

8. The head of the hosp. in Corpus had a Q&A yesterday afternoon. |
|
I thought he actually did a pretty good job. I think he was the Doc Whittington's family asked not to do this anymore. I do think his family has the right to ask the Docs to stay out of the media.

7. If it could be spun in the bush crime gang's favor |
|
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 11:09 AM by leftofthedial
But this is a lose-lose for them
If coal miner's live, it's because they and thier rescuers are heroes that the bush crime gang can pretend are "their" guys
If coal miners die, it's because they and thier rescuers were tragically doomed heroes that the bush crime gang can pretend are "their" guys
If an old rich repuke texan lives or dies, it still means dead-eye dick got drunk and shot a guy in the face with a shotgun during a boozing, whoring, fat-cat-only rich man's party weekend
plus the rich old texan is probably already dead
