Okay, pardon my ignorance

I was out of the loop yesterday moving at work and am totally swamped so have limited time to check back - but how is it that we KNOW that Dick Cheney shot Wittington in the face. I know Bill Maher said it on Hardball last night - but what is the evidence. I want to make sure its true so all these people here saying "peppering" I can correct. Thanks much.

1. I have lots of hunters in my family

And, peppering does indeed occur on occasion. But, peppering does NOT put you in ICU. It does NOT involve the shot INVADING your body to the extent that it lodges in your heart. Peppering is when you get "shot,"a nd you're liek... OMG! And either go to the ER to make sure you're okay (that's a bad case), or you just yell, "Jackass!" and keep hunting.

This si not peppering. This is getting shot. With a shotgun, not a frigging Red Ryder BB gun with compass in the stock. Or a Daisy pellet gun.

2. Peppering -

Once the balls of shot have reached appogee, they fall back to earth. When those balls hit someone, that is peppering.

3. Peppered

I've been peppered with shot before, it stings if you're close enough but doesn't break the skin. When shot breaks the skin, you have not been peppered you've been shot!
