Ol’ plain-speaking Al has been on every media outlet above seven watts extolling the virtues of Dick Cheney. A sample quote - "When it's all through after a few days, people are going to laugh at the media for their overreaction," Mr. Simpson said in an interview from his home in Wyoming. "This is a hunting accident, created by the victim. Dick Cheney didn't do anything. He's a master hunter.”
“Created by the victim”...nice Al. Also saw him babbling about how careful Cheney is and how he’s seen him “draw down” when a car drove into his line of fire. Apparently, someone who wasn’t such a skillful “master hunter” would’ve panicked, shot out the tires, then killed everyone inside.

Then there’s the rancid sack of excrement that is Mary Matalin. Credited with helping Dick craft his response to the shooting, and a fine job it is too. Mary doubts there will be any repercussions. This from the Washington Post - Mary Matalin, a Cheney adviser who has helped him deal with the shooting fallout, rejected suggestions that the White House's handling of the incident might result in political damage. "We have a history replete with evidence to the contrary," she said. "Every time we've had predictions of monumental liability, it never occurred."
Yes, on any issue, Cheney has metaphorically fired thousands of pellets of lies into the face and body of our Republic. He has lodged many near the heart. Whether we recover is still in doubt.
