I think 50% of the Katrina response problems were caused because... |
|
...everyone in our government realized it would be a total rat fork, and they all wanted to wash their hands of it and blame someone else for the fallout. It was a deliberate attempt to place political blame in the midst of the Katrina response - and that person could not be blamed if those in charge actually took action to resolve problems. LIHOP in order to play the political blame game.
I'm watching the Katrina hearings, and the more I see, the more convinced I am that ol' Brownie was left to drown with the rest after Katrina merely because no one in Washington wanted to be left holding the bag. Everyone running around screaming and blaming everyone else, but completely unwilling to take any action on their own. This is management we should trust in a national emergency?
:puke: :puke:
I will NEVER, EVER forgive the Bush Administration for their actions in the aftermath of Katrina. No excuses can make everything OK.

2. I think 90% of the problems were cause by BushCo wanting to make $ on it |

They wanted to make sure ALL the relief contracts went to their crony businesses, and that no volunteers or material donations got in the way of their payday (ie., if Walmart donates bottled water, they don't get to buy that water with government money from their friends. Therefore, they turn it away).
Look at where most of the relief money really ended up -- especially whose pockets it ended up in. Almost all of them are Bush campaign contributors or affiliated businesses.

Bush stole the money to pay for the levee rebuilding- if the money had been there, if Bush had heeded the warnings and let the ACOE rebuild the MS River & Ponchartrain levees, none of this would have happened. Bush & FEMA unlike other presidents and even with H. Andrew, failed to take any preventative measures. But when the levee broke, Bush & his bumbling cronies failed to act. So it all goes back to Bush the fool, and now, his regime trying to pass the buck, as they have from the very beginning. I'm for tar & feathers..

they are plotting or reacting.
It is very possible that they were plotting because the beauty of technology and hurricanes is that you can plan.
1. They are hell bent on destroying all elements of the infrastructure of government programs. They want to destory and on their way they want locals to handle their own problems. It is more than obvious.
2. They want every dollar they can get their hands on and use it for their world rule agenda. They will shortchange anything that involves mere (common) citizens.
3. They could have easily figured out a way to make the situation worse so that they could change the politics and the profits of the situation.
4. They had a Democratic Governor to blame.
5. They would make the religious extremists happy as well as race and gender bigots (who make up their rock solid voting base).
6. They could redistrict by unending and confiscating.
You can add many more. Since they do nothing but figure out how they benefit and tie onw thing to another so with each event, LIHOP MIHOP or not), they will have a long list of other things they can do.
Just as they throw in Alaska drilling in a military budget, they will link and link and link until every psychological, monetary, power, and profit angle has been exhausted.
They get away with event after event after event. They have provided so many examples thata it becomes more transparent, but it is an undending haze of transparency. This is their dis-reality for their purposes. And to make fools of us.
