"All of my remaining days, I will feel tremendous sadness" |
|
Is Jack Abramoff laughing under his breath at Americans while he says this?
He sure wasn't feeling tremendous sadness while he was engaged in a spider web of crimes.

I do think that corrupted thugs do feel intense emotions after being caught--because when they are riding high, they feel next to nothing. They become sociopaths.
Getting caught causes them to crash to Earth.
Just like most criminals, corruption-mongers and other perpetrators--they don't live in the real world. They get a high from the money, power, corruption, life of luxury and their popularity. The high leaves them focused on the gold and unable to see straight.
Getting caught causes a crash--much like a drug addict who is forced to go cold turkey.
Do I feel sorry for him? No.
However, I do think his feelings are probably sincere. I bet he does feel sadness and a host of other emotions. He probably hasn't felt anything real for quite a while. Most of his feelings--right now--are probably stemming from the loss of his money, power and prestige. Remorse--if it happens at all--will come later.
It's hell becoming human, isn't it Jack?

8. And after three years in jail... |
|
he'll go home to his family, roll naked in the money he hid in the back yard, and then give his five kids a lecture on how "crime is never worth it".
