CHENEY IS CLEARED OF ALL CHARGES????

Authorities have cleared Cheney of wrongdoing in the accidental shooting of Whittington, but questions remain around the incident.

15. Not true, somebody had an excellent link about a hispanic ranch hand
Who accidentally shot an undocumented alien in the brush believing him to be a feral pig. The ranch hand was cleared of foul play but charged with manslaughter, reckless manslaughter if I remember right. There was a quote from the Texas sheriff that said something like "There is nothing to indicate this was anything other than an accident but he shot a human being and that cannot go excused".

Nice huh?

21. pigs
That could be Cheney's excuse as well; he thought the victim was a feral pig. They ALL could pass for feral pigs, after all.

23. not to confuse pigs and . . .cheney
But if it was manslaughter that means the man mistaken for a pig was killed.

In this case, the man cheney accidently shot is not dead so they can't charge him with manslaughter.

Now if charges were to be filed it could be for obstruction of justice or not reporting a crime something along those lines since he didn't report the crime or speak to police. ..but it is all in what the prosecution thinks they can charge and they know they aint gonna get the VP of the Texan president.

30. Reckless endangerment?
I'll bet other people in Texas have been charges with something after accidentaly shooting someone in the face, drunk or not.

6. I call bullshit on this one!
I mean think about it - if John Edwards were the vice president and the guy who shot Wellington in the face, that would be all the repukes need to not only call an impeachment charge against him but he'd probably face time in a federal prison for it.

This reeks of bullshit.

20. Little Napoleon shot Wellington at the Western Waterloo.
I'm sorry, I'm trying to make a joke, since the victim's name is actually Whittington.
Around here, we refer to him as The Unwitting One.

9. If he's been cleared, can they change their mind later?
I mean, if he wasn't put on trial or anything, couldn't the charge him eventually?

12. If the man dies, yes - they can charge Cheney
but the question is "Will they?"

and the death is attributed to the shooting

18. What message does this send to the children?
That if you are a rich white guy, you can shoot your friend in the face and it's OK. Might be just a teensy bit more serious than the message that consensual oral sex is OK. Unless Whittington consented to being shot in the face, then I guess they are about equal.
