beer and wine are good for the heart (in moderation). I have heard that beer is better for your heart than wine, there are all sorts of studies out there on it. I wouldn't be surprised if his doc told him to have a drink a day.

edited for grammar. duh!

13. Good for your HEART, maybe...
but bad for your friend's heart, if you're carrying a shotgun. Evidently.

someone asked if Cheney should be drinking beer considering his heart condition. My comment to that question was the fact that some studies have showed that yes, beer or wine are both good for your heart, and that some doctors have been known to prescribe a glass of beer or wine a day for that particular reason. Nowhere did I state that it was recommended to drink and go hunting. BTW, I come from a rather large hunting area, and my husband has a few shot guns. Gun safety is very important to us both and I would never condone such acts, nor do I know anyone who would, which it seems that is what you are suggesting.

must be harder on his heart than "one" beer. Right.

maybe there is a videotape of the event and Dr. Frist can perform his tele-diagnostic wizardry again. Look how accurately he diagnosed Terry Schiavo.

28. And, if I'm not mistaken, they don't have an open-container law in Texas,
do they?

I think if he said he had "a beer," that's probably code for at least SEVERAL beers, or maybe a couple of sixpacks.

after the fact unless you are on State/Public/Federal property.

And the law doesn't apply to vehicles driven by a liveried driver (chauffeur)

10. Yeah I am certain he just "had one beer"
I mean think of Fuddgate as akin to getting pulled over at 12:00 midnight. Officer asks if you had anything to drink and the driver says "a couple beers". Driver gets out of the car does a sobriety test then and their NOT 14 hours later. Driver tests positive and rest is history. Cheney's just had a beer is crap and Americans should know that.

14. Pre arranged question and pre arranged answer
britt did his job. They had to breach the alcohol question because he could not deny he had been drinking. Add the fact that faux news and britt hume are whores for dick cheney and spend every waking hour covering for them and you got something that should shame "conservatives" but it won't because "conservatives" have no shame or integrity or morals or a desire to know the truth.

"ONE" five gallon keg of beer.

19. every DUI on the books (kidding) has the driver saying "but officer,
I only had a couple of beers earlier"....Almost every DUI we processed out, had those words in it somewhere...
When I saw the quote, I almost spit my drink onto the screen. Now we know, drunk as a skunk.

22. Lying with the truth
"I had a beer at lunch".

Was there a follow-up?

i.e. "Did you have any other alcohol before or after lunch? How much? At what time? Beer or wine or hard liquor?"

If not, then they are probably lying with the truth.

That would have been my excuse, and I think it would have held up in a court of law.

one beer, he should have said one thousand, a majority is sure to think he was good and toasty now

it gives the public all the more evidence and reason to totally doubt Cheney and the white house, he never looked at what he was shooting at, a perfect metaphor.

Iran needs to duck and cover, major distraction in the works folks!!!major

37. At the very least Cheney should have been given a breath test.
Preferably a blood alcohol test. He says he had 1 beer . . . right. 99.9% of people picked up for drunk driving say they only had 1 or 2 beers. Cheney, or whoever kept Cheney from the Sheriff, impeded the investigation. This stinks to high heaven. Cover-up, cover-up, cover-up.
