5. Why would u have lunch in the field and then go back to the ranch
to rest for a few hours? Wouldn't it make more sense to have lunch at the ranch if you were planning to sleep off your beers, just as it makes more sense to have lunch in the field if you are going to keep hunting? Hmmmm

18. That was a cold day in Texas
Why would he eat outside on a cold day?

Why would he drive up to the covey in a warm car if he was enjoying the outdoors?

7. But The Texas Police PR Machine Specifically Said No Alcohol
of course the question of how the Texas police could have known weither or not alcohol was involved might be worth investigating. The Texas deputy was prevented from talking to 'deadeye dick' by SS.

Ya. Truth, Justice or the American way.

8. yes, he said he had a beer and there was beer but no one drank beer
very simple you see

From Fox NEWS

HUME: He said he had a beer at lunch and that had been many hours earlier. And it was dusk, around 5:00 p.m., when this incident happened. And he said that, you know, they had lunch out in the field, a barbecue, and he had a beer. But you said you don’t hunt with people who have been drinking. He said no one was drinking. He said they went back to the ranch afterwards, took a break after that, and went out about 3:00 and so you’re four or five hours distanced from the last alcohol that he consumed. And he said no one was drinking, not he nor anyone else.

12. Cheney is a recovering (or not) alcoholic?
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 04:53 PM by mike_c
This puts an entirely different spin on things. Alcoholics do not just drink a casual glass of beer with lunch. No way. I didn't know that about Darth Cheney.

15. I'm not sure the extent of Cheney's drinking problem
but anyone with a few DUI's under their belt, has/had a serious drinking problem.

When news of George W. Bush's drunken driving arrest surfaced during the final week of the 2000 presidential campaign, Republicans tried to dismiss it as one of those "youthful indiscretions" Bush had steadfastly refused to discuss. Of course, when he got popped in Kennebunkport in 1976, Bush was 30 years old, hardly a kid.

Vice President Dick Cheney, on the other hand, could actually argue that his two DWIs came when he was young and reckless.

Court and police records obtained by The Smoking Gun show that Cheney was convicted of drunk driving twice during an eight-month period in the early 1960s in his home state of Wyoming. The two convictions came when Cheney was 21 and 22 and resulted in fines and a brief suspension of his driver's license.

On November 2, in the wake of the Bush DWI discovery, a Cheney spokesperson told reporters that the vice presidential candidate also had a rap sheet. But the Bush-Cheney campaign refused to provide any further details about the DWI busts. So TSG will now handle that chore.

17. FOX "news": No Drinking
Just 2 minutes, while watching Fox, I saw one of their little bottom of the screen banner thingies and it said:
Cheney: No alcohol consumed before accident

What's going on? Are they blatantly lying about their own interview?

20. Didn't see the interview. Did Cheney identify the "3rd hunter"?
I'm assuming it was Pamela Willeford. And any explanation as to why she (or whomever) was not listed on the accident report as a witness, since Armstrong (the witness listed on the report) was sitting in the car and hunter #3 was with the shooter?

"at least" leaves a lot of room for being soused.

about the delay in reporting this incident in the first place (extensive quote at DU link):

Alan Dershowitz nails it on Cheney delay.

25. One beer at lunch is hardly drinking .......
From "Serial Mom"

MOM
So you do drink?

DOTTIE
Socially...I'll have a
beer.

MOM
So you admit you just
lied?

MR. NAZLEROD
Objection! Argumentative!

DOTTIE
(Rising to the bait)
NO I DON'T, YOU BITCH!

JUDGE
Sustained.
(To DOTTIE)
Watch your mouth, Mrs.
Hinkle.

Press scribbles frantically, beginning to doubt
witness's credibility.

MOM quickly and sneakily mouths "FUCK YOU" to DOTTIE
without the JUDGE or anyone else in the courtroom
besides DOTTIE seeing.

DOTTIE
(Shocked, to JUDGE)
Did you see her?! She just
said "Fuck you" to me!

MOM
(Innocently, to JUDGE)
Let the record show I'm
just standing here.

DOTTIE
FUCK YOU TOO, YOU WHORE!

JUDGE
I'm warning you, Mrs. Hinkle.
One more obscenity and I'll
charge you with contempt of
court.

DAD watches, amazed at his wife's cunning.

MOM
(Dramatically)
Mrs. Hinkle, are you insane?

DOTTIE
NO I'M NOT, YOU MOTHER-FUCKER!

Police matrons lunge at DOTTIE as she leaps from
witness box to attack MOM.

JUDGE
(Bangs gavel)
Mrs. Hinkle, I find you
guilty of contempt of
court and sentence you to
a thousand dollar fine and
five days in jail!
(To MATRONS)
Lock 'er up!

DOTTIE
(To MOM, being dragged
out)
YOU COCK-SUCKER! YOU LOUSY
PIG-FUCKER!
