Poll question: What will happen to Cheney?
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 05:43 PM by FormerRepublican
The American peon class (not the BushCo elite) is riled by Cheney's handling of the shooting incident. What do you think will happen to Cheney?

1. You forgot one scenario ...
Details of Cheney's tryst with 'other woman' hits the headlines, and Lynne shoots him dead in an 'unfortunate hunting accident'.

2. Unfortunately my gut feeling is no better than 30 percent or so chance of
resignation. Although that's about 30 percent higher than I would have rated it a week ago.

6. If he weren't actually president, his resignation would be a given.
Disgrace yourself, busted covering up, butt of nonstop jokes, can't show face in public = all liability very little asset.

It's the uncomfortable fact that he's actually running the country that complicates things.

8. SO TRUE!
Saw a post earlier where someone asked who Bush would appoint as VP, should The Shooter step down. And my first thought was: How would Bush know he's SUPPOSED to appoint someone, if Dickie isn't there to tell him what to do!

7. My take on the "resigns" option.
I think he'll resign, but not for this. He'll resign for health reasons, after having stayed out of sight for this all the blow away. (Ie: after the MSM latch onto the NEXT news story.)

He'll then disappear into the backlands of Marylands Eastern Shore, while all this administrations dirty laundry lands on a hapless Bush.

'Least, that's my 02.

brokers and the message is: GOP candidates are biting the dust in polls coast-to-coast for the 2006 midterms, and might Uncle Dick like to step aside in June or July?

Iraq will still suck, the housing market will have begun to slow, no domestic initiatives on the positive side will be evident, and all the domestic initiatives on the negative side -- wiretaps, Scooter/Plame, etc. -- will prevail.

Uncle Dick is the scapegoat in this turn-of-events and for "health" (political) reasons, he steps down in early or mid-summer.

Kindasleazy Rice replaces him.

Lugar gets her job at State.
