1. Iran is switching to the Euro in march
that is what this whole thing is about, it's the same reason we went into Iraq, Saddam was going to do the same thing.

2. Where did you hear that?
The EU would never allow Iran to have a vote on European policy.

Can you give some sort of link or something please.

They are planning to switch to trading in Euros in March.
The energy bulletin article linked in post 5 is a great resource.

3. Bingo. That's all there is: Big Oil will "suffer" Big Losses.
That's the Truth. Or will "they" (mob$ter$ who ki$$ other mob$ter$' a$$e$) pass the buck to the pump? Before Nov.?

I'm afraid the PNAC Branch R already "at work" on this... :scared:

6. I might agree with you if the nut the runs Iran wasn't
so freaking scary.

I don't think he is repeating rethug talking points when he speaks about "there was no Holocaust" and "Israel must be destroyed"

10. He's playing into the neocon "strategy of tension"....
and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a stake in the outcome. Notice when he comes out of all of this unscathed. The Iranian fundamentalists eagerly play along, and it does appeal to certain American paleo-conservatives and neo-nazis as well.

12. War for Words
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 09:56 PM by stepnw1f
Pretty Panicky response... kinda like our response to a country that DIDN'T have WMD's! Everybody's panic originated from the very media you just read or heard "there was no Holocaust" and "Israel must be destroyed".

No nukes for 7-10 years! I'd worry more about nukes from the former Soviet Union being sold on the Black Market; the very thing Valerie Plame was investigating, but had her operation blown by the very people who WANT us to attack IRAN.

Relax.... let's not start a WWIII... ok?

13. So the nut case that said those things
"there was no Holocaust" and "Israel must be destroyed" didn't say them and the media is just making up these quotes to panic us? ..................or I am missing your point?

I live in the real world. You don't have to if you don't want to. I'd take the Iranian leader at his word.

14. Yuh... I Do Think You are Panicking
Which means you are not living in the real world, but a world blinded by fear. Sanctions would work just fine.... what's your rush.

And do you not see a pre-emptive military strike on Iran as a possible touch-off of WWIII? Nah... you want war, but won't serve in it.

8. I Think Iran Is Definitely A Threat And Has Been For Some Time.
But I also think that starting a war with them right now is 100% irresponsible, evil, for ulterior motives, unnecessary and plain wrong.

9. Thank you very much
If one realizes that the PR machine is cranked up to make Americans think its a threat, suddenly things like the cartoon bruhaha erupting now instead of when the things were first published makes sense.

15. Well... it wasn't a threat till we handed them Iraq
myself and many others have been saying this since before the war, removing Saddam will give/gave Iran the opening they needed to get a Shia led theocracy in charge in Iraq, a theocracy Iran will be happy to ally itself with. BushCo played right into their hands.
