okay, not even room in thread title for "accident"

Wouldn't Cheney have put down his gun before running over to Harry Whittington. This would mark the location.

Wouldn't the secret service have known EXACTLY where Cheney was when he fired his shot??? Remember their job is to know what Cheney is doing EVERY SECOND.

Wouldn't they know exactly where Whittington was downed??? Seeing as they probably worked on him for a little while before they loaded him into the ambulance. There should at least be impressions in the ground.

The time lag bothers me

I think they want to push it later to

1) sober up/clean up the beer cans (destroying evidence?)
2) shorten time between accident and ambulance call - were they even going to bring him in or just patch him in the field and send him home???
3) harder to pinpoint exact location of shooting if it was "dark" when it happened
4) no reason for sheriff to come out at night as it would be too dark for him to see anything

Problem is if they push it too late, they are shooting in the dark. UNSAFE.

Cheney probably didn't go to the hospital for fear someone would smell his breath, way too many potential witnesses there.

1. I just posted a similar point on another thread.
Where were they standing? I'd assume behind Cheney, at all times. Were they close to being in the line of fire? Wouldn't Cheney know that the Secret Service are standing behind him? That alone should have made Cheney think twice about such a reckless maneuver.

I think the story is bullshit. I think Dick probably was careless with the firearm and it went off. I'll bet he was well lubricated, too.

2. Actually, Cheney's SS detail's 1st duty is to COVER UP any wrongdoing.
You're thinking of the SS detail of a DEMOCRAT.
