Let's remember to connect the dots for those around us. (Cheney, etc ....)
I have heard people say we should drop this whole Cheney thing and that it is not important. In fact, I even heard it from my husband tonight!!! Without a free press it is our job to connect all the dots for people and make them see the big picture.

Let's push aside that experts have said that the distance could not be right. We can also sweep, under the rug, the fact that the VP would not even talk to the police for 24 hours. We can even push aside the fact that it was stated, at first, that there was no alcohol involved and now they have changed their story.

Instead, we can concentrate on why this shooting story is so important. It is important because is represents the secrecy that this administration has felt it is entitled to. No US administration has ever felt this entitled (or the need) to work in total secrecy. It is indicative of how they have operated from the very start.

Cheney's secrecy in the matter casts suspicion whether there should be any or not. It casts a shadow on the man's word. If we can not trust his word on an 'innocent' shooting then we should then look toward the big Cheney story before this happened.

The news has indicated that Scooter has fingered his boss as having leaked the Plame information. When it comes down to a he said - he said then we must look to the proof of who is more credible. The past weekend's excursion now makes it appear that Cheney may not be as trustworthy as some people may have originally thought.

We must also connect the dots as to what the whole Scooter uproar was about. All of it was about Valerie Plame and,in turn, DSM. This whole ordeal not only highlights that we have people operating in secrecy but it also highlights the fact that if our leaders outed someone just to cover their butts, then they were, again, operating in secrecy and untruths.

The dots connect way back. This is all part of one big story. It started years ago when the PNAC decided Saddam should be removed. This is the only thing that really has been kept out in the open. The secrecy with which they carpet bombed Iraq - hoping for retaliation and being able to scream for revenge, must never be forgotten. This regime was so determined to fulfill their agenda that they put not one covert agent but a whole undercover business at risk. They discussed the plans to fix the intel with Blair and then decided they are NOT answerable to the people when John Conyers delivered the petition to the White House.

The shooting story is important because it so simply and beautifully illustrates how this admin has been operating and how they have felt they are above the law. It shows their disdain for laws. It shows how hey feel they should not have to answer to the people. It shows how they tell one story and then it just keeps changing. It is so simple that anyone can grab onto it and understand it.

There is a whole story that has been unraveling for quite a few years and only a few of us have been listening. We must take the story, not in bits and pieces but as a whole, and connect the dots. Show them that a newspaper reporter was not acting like a spoiled brat but rather had gotten tired of being stonewalled. Ask them how Cheney can be trusted on something as important as our national security. Connect every little bit and do not let them question why this is important.
