May I borrow someone’s tin hat for a while (regarding Cheney incident) |
|
I’ve noticed the discrepancies coming out of the media, coupled with the questionable timing following the accident, and wondered the following…
What if Cheney’s hunting partner was so critically injured that he suffered some kind of life-threatening condition (ie, cardiac arrest) that prevented him from getting oxygen for several minutes.
What if that affliction placed him in a comatose state, putting him on life-support.
That might explain the 22-hour time lag, and would put the Bushistas into serious jeopardy.
So far (as far as I have read), we've only heard from White House spokespersons and selected hospital officials.
Naturally they would want this guy to expire, putting this all behind them. Cheney would go on national TV and “apologize”—the Corporate Media would spin this with the “takes a big man to admit he was wrong” platitude and "accidents happen," and the GOP would be chanting for the nation to “move ahead.”
However, with a brain-dead figure in the national spotlight, the Bushistas have their hands tied. Remember Schiavo? The plug couldn’t very well be pulled on Cheney’s hunting partner without alienating the GOP’s fundie base. And the GOP couldn’t very well have another Schivo-type incident dogging them into the 2006 election season.
So what’s a Dick to do?
Thank you and here is your tin-foil hat back…

1. I've been thinking that this guy is a LOT more F'ed up than they |
|
are letting on, and yes, it would be beneficial in the long run if he were to die quietly - closed casket funeral, end of story.

about him talking to his daughter and sitting in a chair? That is when I quit worrying that he was in a serious condition.

2. I'm getting an ear full of the "Boys will be boys" line tonight. |

Yup, he's messed up.
We won't be seeing un-doctored pictures of Harry for quite some time.
Have you noticed the excessive use of his "good picture"?

4. could explain the current symptoms, pellet in heart, etc |
|
Hey,he was fine when we took him to the hospital, suffered a mild heart attack from the highly unusual circumstance of somehow, miraculously getting a pellet in his heart, then died. Poor guy. Now stop all the jokes because death isn't funny. Oh, you are laughing at the irony of Cheney shooting someone? That's not nice either because he feels really bad and had the worst day of his life. Whats the matter with you libruls? No empathy? :sarcasm:

6. From the beginning I'm thinking ..... |
|
this guy was in BAD shape. No pictures, video of him smiling and joking with staff. If they observe him for the next week and his health declines, they can attribute it to "complications" and cite his age. That would make it more palatable for the public.
I'm saying the guy was near death right after being shot in the head with a shotgun. They needed all that time to concoct this alternative reality scenario and set it in motion.
I'd be more than surprised if Whittington survives.

7. Medical boards pull the plug in Texas |
|
Several cases since Schiavo. People who were up and alert and didn't want to die. So the fundie thing doesn't really matter.
They don't want this guy to die and that was why they held the story. If he had died, we would have seen a "shock and awe" of lawyers in Corpus Christi and Kenedy County. As long as he's alive, Cheney isn't in much trouble. But if he dies, that's a whole other ballgame, especially considering the drinking and other discrepancies in the story.

Was when Brian Williams (NBC) after showing captured FOX news video of Brit Hume pumping the compassion button on Cheney said with a straight face;
-- Wait for it --
"The Administration doesn't want this to be political..."
Had me
