And then John Dean smacked down Rove and, by proxy, george bush, too. Made it very clear that no one, but no one, is above Cheney nor tells him what to do or when to do it.

No wonder the White House was willing to shift the blame to Whittington. According to the Brit Hume interview, he's just an "acquaintance" of Cheney. Damn, I wish my "acquaintances" were so generous. Maybe his "acquaintance" and the other "acquaintances" on the hunting snafu might get a more clear memory now of what really happened.
