"Why We Fight" director interviewed on local public radio show this AM

Did anyone catch the interview with "Why We Fight" director Eugene Jurecki this morning on 8-48? Here's a link. Starts at 8:40 on thread of show.

It was EXTREMELY powerful. He talked about President Eisenhower predicting that the rise of the MIC, that we would begin to fight wars more for profit than for principle, that we would take resources away from crucial programs such as health, education, and infrastructure and divert them disproportionately into the military.

He said that if Eisenhower saw that we were building roads and educating the children and providing schoolbooks for the children of Iraq while American children are going uneducated and drowning in the streets of New Orleans, he would see that his predictions were sadly coming true, that we had lost our way as a country.

There's much, much more. I encourage all my DU friends to listen to this interview. I found myself saying, "yes, yes, yes!" and pounding on my steering wheel on my way to work. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I sure plan on it. Saw the trailers in the theater, and while it pissed me off I could tell it was an important essay on my enemy: the military-industrial complex.
