LOL! Bay Buchanan LIED like a dog on ABC Good Morning America (re: Cheney)
Her explanation for the delay of reporting the shooting of Huntington:

The Vice President just wanted to take the time to gather the facts of the story.

Uh....he WAS the freakin' story you painted-up hussie!!

She then continued the spin (also spun by the Veep on the farce interview with Brit Hume) that the national press is just mad that they weren't notified first.

9. I saw her too and Couric the corporate whore, allowed her to lie on. When
discussion of Cheney and secrets came up, if Couric was worth anything, should have asked about Cheney giving Scooter orders to leak classified info.

5. well hell
all shooters should get like a day and a half to get the facts in order before they have to talk to the authorities. I am sure that police would be very understanding...if Joe Average just told them to go away I am not ready yet...:sarcasm:

13. Now all that Joe Average has to say is that he's gathering
the facts. I'm sure they would be grateful for the help in the investigation.

Why has nobody thought of this before? It's absolutely inspired.

:wtf: Why is it nobody is asking that question? If you or I shot someone and the police came to the house to talk to you, do you think they would take "no not right now, come back tomorrow" for an answer?

Someone's shot at my house, and I'M expected to tell the press what happened, because the shooter's going through so much trauma!!

30. No that's not a better question.
Here's why I think people are missing the point on this. There's no requirement to notify the press of anything.
But if the man was drunk at the time and he used his Secret Service bodyguards to prevent the police from giving him a routine questioning and a possible breathalyser test Then we have a cover up and a criminal abuse of power.
Refusing to tell the press about the shooting is not the scandal. Refusing to talk to the police is the scandal.

10. You have to hand it to them....
when they lie (which is pretty much always) they stick together. They stay on message and never let the true facts get in the way of their story. Sure, it's evil as all hell, these are evil people but you have to admire their solidarity. If there was anything approaching that type of solidarity within the Democratic party things might be a little different.

"Gather the facts of the story"....... :eyes: more like getting their stories coordinated so they were all on the same page when the investigation began. And sobering up too, they had to sober up.

12. She was a treasure on Lou Dobbs last night ...
(she was interviewed between stories about how to seal those darn borders)...

Anyway, it was all about DICK, if you catch my drift. How's DICK holding up, think about what DICK must be going through, here a DICK, there a DICK, everywhere a DICK DICK.

And what a DICK. I've now seen two versions of exactly the same lines he's been rehearsing for the past couple of days. He breaks at, "I'll never ... never get it out of my mind..." talking about his victim going down and how badly he's been affected. :puke:

I remember when we had a good honest president who the kool-aid drinkers kept saying for 8 dam years how he lied then lied to cover up his lie. They were going to return honesty and integrity to the whitehouse. yea right, I haven't been lied to like this in all of my life.

23. Yo, Bay. Normal people don't get extra bonus time to get their
stories straight. This is always viewed critically by the public. No exceptions. Think of how you would have viewed what Cheney had done, if he was a black man of no political value to you.

29. What "facts" could those be?

"The Vice President just wanted to take the time to gather the facts of the story." He was there, he knew everything that happened - there were only 4 others there. Other than the medical condition - which the doctors, not he should give - gathering the facte would have been complete in less than 5 minutes.

31. Exactly What I Thought!
It should have taken about 10 seconds to gather the facts of the story. "Oops, i shot the guy. We better get him to a hospital. It was my fault! We better notify the proper authorities!" Even in a panic, that should take 10 seconds or less.

And another thing: Some folks here at DU were saying yesterday that since the Secret Service guys knew, the authorities were notified. So let me point out the operative word in my above hypothetical quote: "PROPER". The Secret Service are not the PROPER authorities in this case, since they have ZERO jurisdiction over such events.
The Professor
