Many in this thread have, of course, pointed out that women give birth to men. That's true, obviously. But the structural role of women through most of US history (and today as well) has been to support the entire edifice of society. Women have traditionally done the work that allowed the "men" to be out there doing all these "great things" recorded in the history books (men's history marks the accomplishments of men while hiding the structual support of the female economy). And still, to this day, women - even though they are now in the so-called public sphere - continue to do the vast majority of that support work in the private sphere (in other words, women now work twice as hard as they used to in order to hold up the productive power of the society). The CSPAN caller is not only delusional on the simple biological point, in other words; he is also flat-out wrong on the structure of economy. An ideological obfuscation in full flower, as it were.

I'm sorry but that gives me such a chuckle. My 4 yr old grandson recently started playing target practice at the stool from various ranges in the room. It took a while for my daughter to figure out what was going on. SHe thought he was having a relapse with potty stuff. Any way, she caught him one day and scolded him, did the time out thing, and he still continued to do this. Apparently, whatever he was gaining from it was not sufficiently deterred by a timeout. Anyway, he no longer does this because Mommy made him clean up after himself the last time it happened. Sufficiently chastised by the idea that he would have to clean up "peepee", which is yucky, he quit.

Looks like that little guy has had some considerable practice.
