Why can't people see that it isn't that we didn't GET the info

Prior to 9/11, we collected all sorts of intelligence on terror plots. We collected enough information to foil a series of coordinated Millenium-related terror plots and we collected enough information to have stopped 9/11. The difference, as any decent systems analyst will tell you, is what you do with the data. There isn't nearly as much of a need to collect more information as there is to intelligently handle the information we collect now.

If the hacks and cronies couldn't act on what we knew about Katrina, how the hell can they act on far more subtle information? The hacks and cronies parallel their leader in that they lack the necessary curiousity, intellect, analytical prowess, whatever - to act on intelligence. It seems as though all the REALLY intelligent Right Wingers are busy thinking up ways to make more money leaving public service to the - you guessed it - hacks and cronies.
