Poll question: If Vice President Cheney was having an affair . . .
How much do you care?

Obviously a secondary question is if you do care, why? But crafting the poll that way is tiring so you are stuck with this.

1. If it can be used to bring him down,
then a whole hell of a lot.

But personally? Nah.

3. Because if he did, the Republican mantra will be that it is a personal
matter, it has nothing to do with his ability to run the govt., etc. I'm sure thousands of quotes from the 90s can be dug up to highlight the hypocrisy.

4. The RW only understands sex scandals
They (RW) pretend they are so moral and ethical. If there is an affair, it would send the Repub party into a tailspin.

This whole incident seems like one of those film noir movies to me.

5. I woud be impressed with a man of Cheney's age, and all of the
heart meds he was on........being able to HAVE an AFFAIR.......would impress me.

Besides, all of us would be posting in the sex threads.

And then, Cheney would be compaired to Clinton and his sex thing.

So, lots of fuel for fodder which is fun.

17. Affair is such a strong word. Which bimbo do you think Dick was with
that afternoon? The Armstrong lady looked too tough, too mouthy, too much like Lynn. Probably would like chains and leathers. Likes to "season" her prey by peppering them. I think dead-eye dick was with the blonde.

19. If the shot was accompanied by premature ejaculation it would be news
we might be looking for a stain on a little orange vest...

The only thing we know is that this woman was in the hunting party. If Cheney gets a thrill out of walking with an armed woman on his day off, or even screwing her brains out on private property on his day off it is his business.

BUT...

It's not the shooting, by either big gun or little gun, that's important. What is important is the cover up. It's not just more evidence of a pattern in Cheney behavior it also could be a deliberate obstruction of justice with Cheney involving government employees in the cover up.

20. Why I think it's important.....
Bush-Cheney WON the White House in 2000 campaigning on morals and integrity. If Cheney's hiding his twinkie, it just pisses me off. Obviously the GOP didn't want to leave Bill alone, while we thought it was a private matter either

If we all just get up and change seats - well yeah, that's hypocritical of the Republicans to hound Clinton and ignore Cheney - but how do we ignore Clinton and hound Cheney and claim to be much better?

34. Clinton didn't send his "victim" to the ICU ?
Something like that, another DUer said it much better.

Of course we all agree what Clinton did was wrong, and he got caught in a lie, and impeaching the Clenis cost us taxpayers about 72 million bucks. That's what I haven't ignored. Hell, the goppers are bringing up Chappaquidick, I didn't ignore that either at that time, a young lady died. What have we learned?

That's . . . odd. But i guess if Cheney blew Whittington away under those circumstances it woudl be more serious than Monica and Bill.

26. The American people rejected Ken Starr's sex witchhunt.
They will reject this one as well.

I'm just reminding you all that when the Republicans went after Clinton over a blowjob, his approval rating shot up to 68%.

Let's keep our eye on the ball here.

Cheney's sexual shenanigans, if indeed that's what happened here, are not going to deliver us Congress this fall.

Going after Cheney for sex will make hypocrites of us all.

28. I suspect we'll realize this as a party and let it go
On the other hand this may turn out to be a Trent Lott situation - the Republicans take a chance to replace a guy who can't do too much for them anyway and, at the same time, take a shot at us for "hounding him from office."

27. Care? Not really. Enjoy? Immensely!!
I would love a good sex scandal on so many levels! Celebrity prurience, plus the sheer joy of throwing it in the face of those who thought Bush & Co would "bring decency back to the White House".

The only downside is the negative effective on appetite posed by the possibility that I might envision Cheney nude and/or engaged in intimate activities (then again, I could stand to drop some weight)
